The McQuiggans were included in the Waltham Rediscovered project as part of the Irish community. They lived in various neighborhoods including Charles St, the Bleachery, and on Lexington St by St. Mary's Parish.
Frank (Francis) was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1874, and immigrated to the US in 1890. Delia (Connors) McQuiggan was born in Ireland in 1873, and came to the US in 1892. The couple wed in Waltham in 1896 and had 4 children:
- Mary (born 1897)
- Gertrude (born 1900)
- Francis (born 1905)
- Raymond (born 1914)
Frank worked as a coremaker for the Davis and Farnum Foundry in the Bleachery. Fifty years later, his daughter Gertrude started working for Raytheon, which had taken the foundry's place on that very property.
