The Milesky family were included in the Waltham Rediscovered project as part of the Jewish community. They lived on Charles St.
Sarah (Davis) Milesky was born in Poland around 1871. In 1890, her husband Henry (born around 1870 in Lovitch, Poland) left Sarah and their children in Poland to pursue the American Dream. Henry worked in Waltham as a cobbler and was able to bring the rest of his family to join him several years later. Henry and Sarah had five children:
- Minnie (born 1888)
- Rebecca (born 1892)
- Maurice (born 1895)
- Ethel (born 1897)
- Joseph (born 1898)
Henry spent his first few years in the US without enough money to even afford a postage stamp. By the 1920s, he owned his own home in Waltham and worked as a real estate salesman.
